Upgrading and downgrading
You can move between plans at any time from Org Admin → Billing. This page walks through what to expect at each transition.
You always keep what you paid for. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period so you don't lose features mid-month.
Upgrading
From the Free plan to a paid plan, or between paid tiers:
- Open Org Admin → Billing.
- Find the plan you want and click Upgrade.
- If you're upgrading from Free, you're sent to Stripe Checkout for card entry. If you're already paying, you're sent to the Stripe Billing Portal to confirm the change.
- The upgrade applies immediately. Your invoice is prorated for the remainder of the current billing period — you're charged the difference between the old and new plans, not the full new-plan price.
The new tier's features are available immediately. AI quotas reset to the new tier's level the moment the upgrade lands.
Downgrading
From a paid plan to a lower paid plan, or from any paid plan to Free:
- Open Org Admin → Billing.
- Find the lower plan and click Downgrade.
- You're sent to the Stripe Billing Portal to confirm. The portal explains the change clearly: "Your plan will change to X on YYYY-MM-DD".
- Until the period ends, nothing visible changes. You keep every feature of your current plan.
- At the period end, your plan transitions to the lower tier automatically. You receive an email confirming the change.
TIP
You won't lose features mid-period from a downgrade. If you're testing whether a lower plan covers your needs, downgrade-then-upgrade gives you a clear cycle to see how the change feels.
Cancelling to Free
Cancelling is a downgrade to the Personal (Free) plan, just with different wording. From the Stripe Billing Portal click Cancel plan instead of picking a tier. Same mechanics — your paid features stay live until period end, then drop to Personal.
You can un-cancel at any time before the period ends; the cancellation simply removes itself.
Surplus-limit downgrades
If a downgrade would leave you above the new plan's limits (e.g., 8 guests on a Starter plan that caps at 5), the system flags it before you confirm:
Your current usage (8 guests) exceeds the Starter limit (5). Please remove 3 guests before this downgrade can complete.
You can either remove the surplus now or pick a higher target plan. We won't downgrade you into a state where some of your members or guests would lose access without a clean notification.
Switching billing interval
To move from monthly to yearly (or back), open the Stripe Billing Portal from the Billing page and change the cycle there. Switching to yearly is treated as an upgrade — prorated immediately. Switching back to monthly applies at the end of the current yearly period.
Failed payments during a transition
If the card on file fails during a plan change, the change is paused while we retry over a 7-day window. You get email notifications at each retry. Update the card from the Stripe Billing Portal at any time during that window to complete the change.
After the grace window without a successful payment, the change is cancelled and your plan stays where it was.
Tax and currency
Pricing is in EUR. VAT is added at checkout based on your billing address; business customers with a VAT number get reverse-charge as appropriate. The invoice PDF shows the tax breakdown.
