Exporting boards

You can export any board to a static file — for embedding in slides, sharing as an attachment, or archiving a workshop result. Click Export in the top-right of the board and pick a format.

Available formats

FormatPlanBest for
PNGAll plansSlide decks, screenshots, anywhere you need a raster image
SVGStarter and abovePrint, high-resolution displays, editable in vector tools
PDFAdvanced and aboveMulti-page documents, audit-ready records, sharing externally

The format set is tier-gated — if your plan doesn't include SVG or PDF, those options are dimmed in the Export dialog with an inline note about which plan unlocks them.

What gets exported

By default the export captures everything visible on the canvas. You can narrow it before exporting:

  • Selection only — select shapes (or a frame) before opening Export to capture just those.
  • Frame only — right-click a frame and choose Export frame for a clean crop to its bounds.
  • Page setup — for PDF, you can pick portrait or landscape and choose A4 or US Letter.

Comments and presence cursors are stripped from exports. Connectors and freehand drawings are rendered as vectors in SVG and PDF; in PNG they're rasterised at the export resolution.

Resolution and quality

The PNG dialog has a quality slider — Standard (1x), High (2x), or Print (4x). High is the right default for most use; Print is useful when the export will be projected or printed at a large size.

SVG and PDF exports are vector — they scale without loss.

TIP

For the cleanest "this is the takeaway from the workshop" export, frame the relevant section first, then Export frame as PDF. You get a single-page document with just the part you want to share.

Permissions

Anyone with access to a board can export — Viewer, Commenter, Editor, and Owner all have export rights. The export reflects the board state at the moment you trigger it.

External guests have the same export rights on the boards they're invited to.

Bulk export and archive

For end-of-project archiving on Advanced and Enterprise plans, Org Admins can bulk-export every board in a workspace from Org Admin → Workspaces → Export workspace. The result is a ZIP containing PDFs of every board.
